Conceiving a baby can be impacted by several health and lifestyle issues. Booking an appointment with me is a great way to discuss your health and how best I can help prepare you for pregnancy.
As a gynaecologist, I see patients with a range of conditions that can impact natural fertility. Many of these issues can be addressed and this can sometimes assist you to conceive naturally. For example, if it’s found that you have any of the following, it can impact your chances of getting pregnant.

Each of the above can be treated. Please book an appointment to discuss any of these options.
For other women, pregnancy may require additional support, including IVF. If that’s the case, I will refer you through to an IVF expert to ensure you continue to receive exceptional care.
Gynaecology
Pain? Heavy periods? Cramping? Peri-menopause? Menopause?
These are just some of the reasons that you might need to speak with a gynaecologist.
If you are experiencing any level of pelvic pain you should seek a consultation with a gynaecologist.
When it comes to women and their bodies, many women are very perceptive and aware when something changes or feels wrong. However, for some women there can be something occurring that is more subtle, provides no pain or symptoms, but nevertheless requires investigation.
Whatever is happening with your body, I am here to listen, talk with you and provide help.
Gynaecology is not always about invasive testing.
With the technology of ultrasound (including those provided in our consulting rooms during your appointment), we can see more detailed images to help diagnose a problem and find a path forward.
At Elgin House, our team of gynaecology specialists care for patients with simpler, more common problems through to the full range of more complex gynaecological issues. Whatever is happening with your body, gynaecology specialists are here.
FAQs
I am not currently pregnant, can I still make an appointment to discuss a pregnancy?
Yes! Pre-pregnancy appointments are important and give you the opportunity to discuss any concerns about your health or risks associated with a pregnancy.
When should I make my first appointment for my pregnancy?
Give the team a call and we will book you in for your first appointment around 8-10 weeks gestation.
If you are already further into your pregnancy and considering swapping the care you have had, (e.g. going from public to private) you can make an appointment at any time. Many patients transfer to my care during their pregnancy at different gestations.
Do I need a referral from another doctor?
If you have a Medicare card, you should first speak to your family doctor and request a referral for obstetric or gynaecological care. Ask your GP to provide you with a referral and bring that with you at your first appointment. You will then receive a Medicare rebate for your visit.
If you do not receive Medicare benefits, you can elect to call and make an appointment at any time.
Can you please send me more information about your fees?
Send our team an email via the contact form and request our Information Pack, this has all of our fees included for you to review.
